  5. The HealthCare Network has been created to assist individuals and
  6. organizations share information concerning the Health Care industry.
  7. Discussion areas (echos/message areas) will cover most any medical
  8. related issue, from specific conditions through the newest
  9. advancements in medical technology.  The HealthCare Network's "File
  10. Distribution Network" (FDN) provides for the release of programs and
  11. informational files.  Additionally, various databases and text files
  12. are being put together to be made available to the participants of the
  13. Network.

  15. The HealthCare Network itself is made up of two distinct sections:
  16.  
  17. 1.  Public Access
  18.  
  19. The "Public Access" areas are open to all and will account for the
  20. greatest amount of participation in the Network.  This area covers
  21. most any subject imaginable and provides a number of general
  22. information services for it's participants.

  24. Some of the items available, or soon to be available, include:

  26.       A.  Echo Areas (message areas) - Discussions on almost any
  27.           medical related subject.

  29.       B.  File Areas (file echos), HCN - FDN - Planet Connect

  31.       C.  Feedback to/from various Publications.

  33.       D.  On-line versions of Publications (soon).
  34.  
  35.       E.  Career advancement help.
  36.                Job postings
  37.                Resume postings
  38.                Resume writing help
  39.                Interview help
  40.                etc...

  42.       F.  Access to various organizations involved in the medical
  43.           field.
  44.  
  45.       G.  Connections with numerous BBS's around the country (public,
  46.           private, government, etc.) which specialize in medical and
  47.           healthcare related issues.

  50.                Equipment servicing
  51.                Upgrade notifications
  52.                FDA notices
  53.                etc...

  61. The "Private Access" areas require that certain conditions be met for
  62. access and will provide special areas and services specifically designed
  63. to meet the needs of those involved.

  66.      request.

  69. For further information and a startup "kit", you may request the file
  70. "HCN" (magic name) or as "HCNINFO.ZIP" from 1:232/39 (US Robotics 
  71. DS/V34/VFC). Or, it can be requested from the address on the origin line.
